Services and maintains different types of key-operated locking systems,mechanical and electronic cipher locking systems, mechanical and electroniccombination locking systems and associated hardware and key duplication.
Correctly captures data relatedto maintenance work orders, preventative maintenance inspections, and emergency / urgentwork requests for input into the Keystone or current / equivalent software system. MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES :
Shallprovide new or duplicate keys, open door locks without keys, opens safe locksby drilling, and keep records of locks and keys issued.
Shallhave all key cutting capabilities and lock picking services on a 24 / 7 basis.
Cutsnew or duplicate keys using key cutting machines
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENTDIRECTLY USED :
Locksmithtools, hand tools and key cutting machines
Knowledgeof machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
WORKING ENVIRONMENT :
Workis generally conducted on-site at maintenance and project locations inout-of-doors areas with potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions.
Work may require lifting up to 50 lbs.,stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting and working with orin areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical orbiological agents.
Employee use ofPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head,foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices.
Mustcomply with OSHA, EPA, and Fire Regulations and published company work rules.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES :
Physical requirements include lifting, climbing,extended sitting, stooping or standing, or other physical efforts that arenormally required.
In addition, visual acuity, hearing and speakingrequirements would be considered.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education / Certifications : One year related experience may be substituted forone year of education, if degree is required.
Must have and maintain a valid U. S. SECRETSecurity Clearance prior to deployment.
Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License and able todrive with a manual transmission.
Must have an international driver’s license andcapability of obtaining an Air Force flight line driver’s license.
Must be able to pass a flight line access test andobtain flight line access badge.
Must be able to pass employment and deploymentqualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drugtesting, background checks, etc.
Candidatesmust successfully complete both online and hands on CBRN (chemical, biological,radiological and nuclear) defense training.
Training includes the successful fit testing of DoD provided protectivegear.
Requiresapproximately three (3) years of Locksmith experience
Requiresknowledge of various types of locks and keys, the ability to fabricate keys,change locks, and use the tools required for this trade
Musthave an understanding of safety directives and polices regarding the operationof Locksmith equipment
Keeps up-to-date on Locksmith technology and applynew knowledge to the job
Knowledge of servicing and maintaining all types ofkey-operated locking systems, mechanical and electronic cipher locking systems,mechanical and electronic combination locking systems and associated hardwareand key duplication
Able to troubleshoot and rebuild locks, lockcylinders and locksets to include re-pinning / re-keying locks
Must be able to gain keyless entry to locked areasusing standard locksmith and hand tools
Fabricate keys by code using standard code cuttingequipment
Knowledge of MS Office, including Word and Excel,Outlook and other related applications preferred
Must have excellent communication skills inEnglish, both written and oral
Able and willing to work periods of long hours tomeet mission requirements
Military experience in acontingency environment and knowledge and experience working with governmentcontracts preferred.
OtherClearance Level required at Start Date : Secret
