Tasked with maintaining aerospace equipment that supports aircraft systems on the ground. Performs installation, maintenance, and repairs on line manufacturing equipment.
Locates and diagnoses failures, replaces defective components, and performs basic troubleshooting using standard electronic equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, and verbal and / or written instructions.
May redesign basic optical, vacuum, electrical, electronic, or mechanical systems for incorporation on existing manufacturing equipment.
May estimate labor and equipment costs and prepare requisitions as required. Maintains appropriate maintenance, inventory, and repair logs.
Uses a variety of hand, power, and test tools and equipment.
Maintains and repairs runways, taxiways, and ramp areas including plowing snow, weed removal, patching, etc. to ensure safe operation by airport users.
Reads and interprets instructions and documentation
Plans work activities
Moves materials, tools and equipment to and from work locations in support of maintenance activities
Loads and unloads vehicles as needed
Performs a variety of other skilled tasks including the operation of light to heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
Operates various other pieces of heavy equipment such as bobcats and front-end loaders, split-gear dump trucks.
Acts as a backup to the heavy equipment team to perform other required duties as assigned
Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum four (4) years of experience performing similar tasks on a military flightline, with vocational, specialized and / or military training in MHE / AGE maintenance and operation.
Class B Commercial Operator License (CDL) required
Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain US government clearance.
Must possess a thorough understanding and working level of knowledge on Aerospace Ground Support Equipment.
Possess a working level of knowledge on Maintenance Information Systems such as Electronic Maintenance Instructions, Aircraft Forms Documentation, and Supply Chain Management.
High school diploma / GED equivalent is preferred
Possess an ability to work in a diverse work culture environment.
Clearance requirements are still being determined. If a clearance is required, persons employed for this position must be US citizens and qualified to obtain and / or maintain a personnel security clearance with the US government.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
After receipt of an employment offer letter, applicants must complete the standard form 86 and be granted an interim secret clearance by the US government before the deployment process can begin.
