POSITION SUMMARY :
Under the supervision of theEngineer and SpecialPurpose Equipment (ESPE)Supervisor, performs field level maintenanceon utilities equipment and special purpose support systems such as heating,ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), Environment Control Units, quartermasterand chemical equipment, DRASH units, refrigerators and Military / CommercialVehicle air conditioning systems.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES :
1.Maintains(inspects, repairs, tests and adjusts) air conditioner electrical systems, airconditioner vapor systems, refrigeration unit electrical systems, portableheater fuel / electrical systems, fire extinguisher rechargers and fireextinguishers / valves.
2.Inspectsand troubleshoots petroleum, oil and lubrication equipment, smoke generators,laundry and bath units, chemical equipment, water purification equipment systems,portable forced air heaters.
3.Preparemaintenance and supply forms and reports.
4.Maintains(inspects, repairs, tests and adjusts) Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) HVACsystems.
5.Use,maintain and hand and shop power tools.
6.Performs other duties as directed.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENTDIRECTLY USED :
Electronic Computers, Electrical or General Mechanic tool boxes, TM’s, precisiontools, generators, power tools, overhead lifts, HVAC repair systems, andmilitary / commercial vehicles.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT :
Work is generally conducted in a maintenance shop environment;however, duties mayinvolve the conduct of work in outdoor areas with a potential exposure toextreme climatic conditions / ambient temperatures.
Work will require lifting,stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting and working with orin areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical orbiological agents.
Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) isrequired in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot,hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices.
Must complywith OSHA, EPA, and Fire Regulations and published company work rules.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES :
Workmay require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolongedsitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist forexposure to physical, chemical or biological agents.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education / Certifications : One year related experience may besubstituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
Note : US driver’s license must be valid for at least 18-24 months after hiring date.
Must have 2 years of experienceas a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) technician; or acombination of formal training and experience totaling 2 years as a HVACTechnician

11.Abilityto handle confidential company and employee information with completediscretion.
12.Abilityto identify all variants of military arms and associated equipment
13.Mustbe knowledgeable of Physical Security Requirements IAW ARs 190-11 and 190-13
14.Mustbe knowledgeable of Key and Lock Control procedures IAW AR 190-51
15.Mustbe knowledgeable of the supply control requirements IAW AR 710-2 and DA Pam710-2-1
16.Mustpossess a High-level organizational and planning skills to ensure workflow ismanaged efficiently and accurately.
17.Mustpossess excellent knowledge of HAZMAT control measures for Tritium, DU andother environmental hazards
18.Abilityto read, analyze, understand and interpret reports, wiring diagrams / schematicsdrawings,blueprintsand documents.
19.Knowledgeof electronic and mechanical principles and concepts.
20.Abilityto operate electronic, electrical and mechanical test equipment.
21.Knowledgeof operation, testing and maintenance of specific types of weapons systems.
