AECOM is currently seeking a highly motivated and creative Safety Manager for an opportunity based in the Middle East. The purpose of this project is to provide technical services including inspections, assessments, repairs, reports, and training for facilities and operations-
related projects. Specifically, this project includes electrical inspection and repairs, fire prevention assessment and training, storage and management of government / contractor property, and construction and operations related inspections and assessments at various U.
S. military and coalition occupied facilities
This position will require deployment to countries within the U.S. military’s CENTCOM Area of Responsibility, including the TF SAFE operations center in Kuwait.
Frequent travel within the CENTCOM AOR is anticipated. This position is contingent upon award of contract.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below :
Operate under the direction of AECOM project manager and corporate quality control to implement the project QC Plans
Observe the contractors QA / QC plan is effectively implemented.
Perform quality assessments
Identify non-conformances and suggest corrective actions / quality improvements
Provide daily QC reports
Conduct on-site review of work completed
5+ years of experience in Safety
OSHA 30 hour (DOL)
Must meet requirements as designated in EM 385-1-1 Safety and Health Requirements Manual for SSHO.
Experience in projects with electrical systems and / or fire protection systems
Current and active Secret level security clearance
Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required
Must pass a State and Federal criminal history / security background check.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen
Must participate in and successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment fitness for duty questionnaire.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain, variable outdoor conditions including heat, dust, noise, and chemicals (e.
occasionally working with arms above shoulder level, repetitive bending & stooping, standing / walking, power gripping / squeezing (hand tools, levers, etc.
using portable ladders (weight must be 300 lbs. or less), wearing fall protection (weight must be 310 lbs. or less), operating of heavy, moving or dangerous equipment, performing repetitive fine hand movements, and lifting of 25-
50 pounds; rarely working at heights, climbing stairs, performing work on electrical circuits, work in confined spaces, working alone on isolated / remote areas, and lifting of greater than 50 ->
75 pounds. Position will include wearing associated personal protective equipment, including respiratory protection
Certifications or professional affiliations as follows : CESCP, ASP, CSP, CHST, or other relevant BCSP or NEBOSH certifications
Previous experience working overseas
Previous experience working with the U.S. military in Contingency area of operations
Previous experience working it the US Army Corps of Engineers
