Job Description :
This position will address critical coastal management issues and is responsible for designing, implementing and managing the National Estuarine Research Reserve’s comprehensive Coastal Training Program.
This position will host trainings and workshops with coastal managers throughout the year. This position will perform in a manner consistent with goals and objectives of the University of Texas Marine Science Institute and the Reserve Management Plan.

POSITION IS LOCATED AT THE MARINE SCIENCE INSTITUTE, MISSION-ARANSAS NATIONAL ESTUARINE RESEARCH RESERVE IN PORT ARANSAS, TEXAS.
Position terminates 8 / 31 / 2021 with possibility of renewal based on funding and performance.
B.S. degree in one of the physical, biological, social or environmental sciences, or a closely related field with 5 years of experience in facilitating meetings and interacting with resource managers.
Background in one of the physical, biological, social or environmental sciences, or a closely related field. Experience in coastal planning and environmental policy.
Strong communication, organizational skills, and computer skills are essential. Experience in workshop development and group facilitation.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
M.S. Degree in one of the physical, biological, social or environmental sciences, or a closely related field. General knowledge of regional natural resource conservation issues.
Experience preparing grant applications. Level of familiarity with relevant federal agencies (NOAA, USFWS).
Familiarity with state agencies (TGLO, TPWD, TxDot) and local agencies (ACND, CBBEP, TNC).
$40,000 + depending on experience and education. Full benefits including health insurance, annual and sick leave, and retirement.
Occasional local and out of state travel.
Lifting up to 30 lbs.
Occasional overtime and work on weekends.
