Petrofac Training Services (PTS) has a contract to provide training services to a major oil and gas company in Kuwait. The services will be provided across a range of assets including training centres and on site locations.
Client wishes to verify existing skills & competencies and to increase these skills & competencies to international standards levels.
The role of the Specialist is to actively participate in the delivery of the training services, provide specialist advice on own area of subject matter expertise and support the wider team in achieving the objectives required by the client. Key Accountabilities :
Review of the current Company Competency framework in relation to the current Job Family Job Descriptions including benchmarking against other major National Oil Companies (NOC’s) / major International Oil Companies (IOC’s).
Recommendations for update of the same recognizing the need for both Knowledge & Application elements, in line with Company needs, and also reflecting international best practice.
Review of the current Learning Options & Learning Tools associated with the Competency Frameworks.
Recommendations for update of the same including rationalization of the available delivery methods and learning titles.
Act as a Reviewer in the Gap Analysis Discussion (GAD) process.
Act as external’ verifier for OJT and in-house Course assessments.
Working with other relevant members of the Personnel Training Department to QA / QC the technical content for in-house courses, external courses defined for GAD / Personal Development Plan (PDP), and international Attachments, etc.
Working with other relevant members of the Personnel Training Department and wider Company Learning Community to review and update the Under Development and Under Training programs for Graduate Engineer and Diploma Technician new hires respectively.
Liaises with other Personnel Training Department team members and Company Operational Teams regarding specific technical courses & vendor training.
Provide data input to the quarterly and monthly reporting required by the Team Leader Personnel Training Department
Supports other SME’s, Seniors and Team Leader on any relevant initiative, including providing reporting statistics, input to e-
Learning modules, competency assurance, new Learning ideas, etc.
Review and update of the technical Competency frameworks (including training catalogues) in line with Company process.

Mandatory Requirements :
Degree in Bachelor of Science or Degree in Bachelor of Engineering in related technical subject.
Minimum 15 years’ experience in related field and specialty of which 10 years in experience into International Major Oil & Gas Companies in Operational Environment.
Experience in Oil & Gas Upstream
Experience in developing competence profiles and frameworks.
