Provides Overall management for a major food services unit. Plans, Organize, assign and supervises the work of a number of diversified personnel engaged in food preparation and service.
Observe quality of food and service and gives instructions for maintenance if high standards. Develops and prepares menus according to sound dietary principles.
Develops, prepares and prices menus to satisfy customers desires : promotes cash sales and catering / banquet service. Coordinate catering / banquet service activities : recommends menu to customers.
Work as necessary to insure customers satisfaction, which may include occasional odd hours and / or remaining on call-for problem solving.
Review inventory, requisition and purchase food supplies as required : makes direct special purchases. Assign and train personnel and determine work schedule.
Interview and hires employees; evaluates employees’ performance; resolve minor employee grievance. Convey his guests’ comments on the outlets and food services and the operation of his outlets in the logbook.
Brief his staff daily, discuss with them, inform them about any special events, etc. Responsible for the scheduling of his staff, attendance sheet, proper set up, good services in his outlet and ensure that good hygienic standards in service area are always maintained.
Checks up restaurant situation. Set up equipment’s and maintenance, and makes sure of a proper appearance of his staff. Control store requisition.
Assign and supervises all duties and responsibilites of his staff, checking the furniture of his restaurant, music, lighting, temperature, electrical appliance.
Maintain an accurate reservation system to advise the chef of the numbers of special request and reservations. Assist in planning of new menus, promotions, marketing issues and concern, balance and monitor profit and loss statement report, and make training to his staff to as per the standard operating procedure.
Try to increase sales through guest contact. Control small operating equipment in the outlet. Report to the director for all administration duties.
Attend every morning the briefing as well as the food and beverage meeting makes good relations with his staff, kitchen, and other outlets.
Make sure that his outlet is properly staffed at all times, and to be responsible for the staff administration like holidays, cooperation etc.
Coordinate with other outlets and personnel departments for ensuring that the policies and procedure are followed on matters like discipline, grievance, handling, transfer job description, etc.
Maintain a high standard staff, professional, good and tries to develop them. Identifies training needs and takes appropriate actions.
Organize training sessions and communication meeting on a regular basis, as well as on-the-job training liasing with Operations and Training Managers.
Ensure that the staff are aware of and comply with fire, hygiene, health and safety regulations. Performs any oher duties assigned by the General Manager.
Keeps smiling and adopts positive attitudes and principles, it is the ket of seccesses. Forecast sales, covers. Maintain an accuraten reservation system to advise the Chef of the number of special requests and reservations.
Review the work of subordinates to make sure that the establishment procedure and policies are followed. Plan and execute training programs regularly.
Promotes sales through guest contact. Handle guest complaints and comments. The assistant operation manager is responsible for preparing the annual budget or of the organization so that it can be assessed at the end of the financial year if the expenses exceeded the budget or not.
The responsibility of an assistant operations manager also comprise of accessing whether the company is making profits of incurring losses.
Overseeing all the financial matters, planning and making long-term strategies for the growth and progress of the company.
