An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Restaurant Manager to join the team, a new brand in hospitality and wellbeing concept here in Kuwait.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing a distinctly different and elevated plant-based and vegan restaurant and managing the day to day operations.
Main duties include : OPERATIONAL DUTIES · Managing all activities of the of house operations, including the bar area, the service and the hosting.
Managing deliveries orders and coordinating with the delivering company. · Monitoring the setting up / opening and closing procedures of the restaurant.
Monitoring the re-stocking of the service area and condiments. · Assuring proper safety, hygiene and sanitations are followed.
Moving throughout the facility and kitchen areas to visually monitor and take action to ensure food quality and service standards are met.
Verify temperatures, judge appearance and taste of products and check preparation methods to determine quality. · Giving guidance towards improvement and make necessary adjustments for consistency.
Ensuring that all standards and cash handling procedures are met. · Soliciting feedback from guests concerning food, beverages, service and improvement ideas.
Supporting the entire Food & Beverage operation including supervising other areas if necessary, handling special projects, running promotions, handling public relations and marketing.
Setting-up special events. · Working closely with Marketing and Social Media Manager to ensure that all promotions and collateral updates (including social media and website information and menu updates) are done in a timely matter.
Providing a clean and safe environment by assigning and assisting with cleaning. · Ensuring maintenance of equipment by calling for repairs and training staff on proper use by using proper standard operating procedures to report and fix these issues.
Resolving problems to the satisfaction of involved parties. · Organizing and conducting pre-shift and departmental meetings communicating pertinent information to the staff, such as house count and menu changes.
Schedule and direct staff in their work assignments. · Liaising with the chefs to ensure a smooth day to day operation. · Making guests feel at home and taken care of throughout their experience.
HUMAN RESOURCE RELATED DUTIES · Attending mandatory meetings including divisional meetings, staff meetings, etc. · Interviewing, selecting, training, supervising, counseling and disciplining outlet staff for the efficient operation of the outlet.
Ensuring compliance with federal laws. · Ensuring adequate staffing levels for anticipated business during shift. · Coaching staff to adhere to outlet service standards.
Demonstrating positive leadership characteristics which inspire team members to meet and exceed standards. ADMINSTRATIVE / FINANCIAL DUTIES · Maintaining rapport with all departments and attend relevant meetings.
Maintaining profitability of outlet. Control payroll and equipment costs (minimizing loss and misuse). Ensure par stock levels are maintained by calculating inventory, ordering and retrieving supplies.
Evaluating cost effectiveness of all aspects of operation. Develop and implement cost-saving and profit-enhancing measures.
Utilizing computer to accurately charge customers, create forecast and revenue reports and write correspondence. Input and retrieve data and change computer procedures using series of keypunches to program system (POS).
Ensuring all daily and monthly reports are detailed and submitted in a timely manner. · Utilizing traditional software programs such as Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and / or Outlook Express.
Conducting competitive research and report trends and recommendations. Reports to : Owners. Responsible for : Waiters, Runners, Bartenders, Hostesses About You : In order to be considered for the role, you will have to have a minimum of two years’ experience working within an independent restaurant as a restaurant manager.
In addition, it would be preferential that you have experience in working in a Plant-based elevated casual operation that turns over large volumes.
