Under the supervision of the Public Works Facility Inspection Supervisor, performs inspections of generator systems in support of new-construction, upgraded, and / or repaired fixed, semi-permanent, or relocatable structures.
Ensures compliance with requisite contractual, US Government, DoD, U.S. Army, local and safety, regulations, codes, policies, guidelines and instructions.
Provides technical support to the Facilities Maintenance Branches and Projects Team.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES :
Performs initial, in-progress, and final inspections to identify violations.
Ensures repairs and alterations to remedy inspection violations are accomplished according to industry standards.
Performs random site visits during each phase of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance (initial through final) to conduct inspections.
Follows-up as needed to perform additional inspections during each phase of maintenance (initial through final).
Inspects in-progress and completed work for quality workmanship and safety.
Reviews materials to be used prior to the start of work.
Signs off that all work has been satisfactorily accomplished following completion of maintenance or project activities.
Uses the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track and update work orders as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.

A basic set of hand and power tools used on the job
Test sets and other generator maintenance related tools / equipment
General office equipment
WORKING ENVIRONMENT :
Work is generally conducted on-site at maintenance and project locations in out-of-doors areas with potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions.
Work may require lifting up to 50 lbs, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents.
Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices.
Must comply with OSHA, EPA, and Fire Regulations and published company work rules.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES :
Physical requirements include lifting, climbing, extended sitting or standing, or other physical efforts that are normally required.
In addition, visual acuity, hearing and speaking requirements would be considered.Consider this section carefully; any physical requirements must be able to be tied back to the major job activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education / Certifications : One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
High School graduate or equivalent
Certification as master tradesman preferred
Generator repair technical school required, military training preferred
Must possess a driver’s license from the US to obtain a Military and / or Kuwait Driver’s License
Minimum of ten (10) years continuous experience performing installation and / or maintenance on generators at a supervisor or inspector level
Must possess the technical skill to identify repair requirements as it pertains to generator equipment.
Must have expert knowledge of equipment manuals for servicing, operations and repair of electrical systems.
Must be an expert in corrective actions performed by maintenance teams.
Must have the ability to troubleshoot, service and repair generator systems.
Must have full knowledge of electrician’s tools and test equipment.
Must be proficient in all phases of paperwork as it pertains to servicing, maintenance, repairs, classification, etc.
Must have expert knowledge of equipment operations as it is critical to providing a quality inspection program.
Must be capable of giving and receiving instructions during the course of normal duties.
Must be capable of working independently with little-or-no guidance.
Must be willing to adapt to rapidly-changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
