Waldorf Astoria brings five-star luxury to Kuwait. The Waldorf Astoria hotel is a five-star luxury business and leisure hotel located on the south side of the Avenues mall overlooking the fifth ring road and connected to the avenues mall through prestige district.

The five-star Waldorf Astoria will include 200 guestrooms and will feature a 640 sqm ballroom, multiple dining options and an outdoor pool and spa.

What will I be doing?

The production of food to the highest level of quality, hygiene and cost effectiveness to deliver an excellent experience while contributing to high levels of customer service.

To ensure HACCP regulations are being strictly followed.

  • To control Food Cost as par budget as a minimum requirement
  • Carry out inventories in a daily, weekly and monthly rhythm and draw up analyses of the results of the inventories; if necessary drawing up an action plan with the Purchasing dep.
  • Determine the current inventory of operating equipment in a monthly rhythm in cooperation with F&B outlets, in order to keep breakage and disappearance to a minimum
  • Ensure training is provided on kitchen equipment to avoid misuse & reports deterioration’
  • Draw up work / holiday schedules taking account of work to be done and personnel costs, in order to ensure an efficient service sequence as well as profitability and productivity.
  • Carry out checks during the daily delivery of goods for volume, weight, and quantity in cooperation with the Purchasing Manager.

  • Carry out interviews and selection of applicants for positions in the kitchen area, and an assessment of Team Members at intervals of three and twelve months
  • Carry out weekly kitchen meetings and monthly communication meeting
  • Participate in monthly F&B Mgmt meeting
  • Define and delineate the service standards
  • To create inventive menus for all outlets
  • To implement Hilton F&B standards and programs when requested

    In addition, we look for the demonstration of the following key attributes :

  • Considerable knowledge of mathematics (addition / subtraction / multiplication / division) to create and interpret reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Extensive knowledge of menu development, insight into marketing, cost and wage control.
  • Extensive knowledge of food products, standard recipes, and proper preparation.
  • Ability to analyze, forecast, and make judgments to ensure proper payroll and production control.
  • Ability to read, write, speak English to comprehend and communicate job functions.
  • Ability to safely operate complex food preparation machinery.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to supervise a large staff and accomplish goals on a timely basis.
  • Ability to work in an environment with extreme temperature ranges(hot and cold).
  • Effectively conduct meetings, menu briefings, and maintain communication lines between team members and management personnel.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and or sit continuously to perform the essential functions of job for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to effectively deal with external and internal customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to collect accurate information from these customers to resolve conflicts.

  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations, distinguish product taste, texture, and quality, and evaluate presentation and preparation.
  • Artistic ability to create theme menus, ideas for ice carvings, decorations, etc.
