The Multi-purposeVehicle Mechanic (MVM) is responsible for safely and efficiently performinginspections, repairs and maintenance of general-purpose vehicles, and light andheavy-duty construction equipment.
This position reports to the Multi-purposeVehicle Mechanic Supervisor. MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES :
Determines the overall mechanical condition of vehiclesand equipment, corrects deficiencies, and effects repair.
Perform corrosion control, winterization, storageand shipment of vehicles.
Shall be capable of using diagnostic testequipment, and of accurately diagnosing and repairing assigned electroniccontrolled equipment.
Shall repair, adjust, overhaul, or replace majorassemblies or sub-assemblies such as power and drive trains, electrical, airconditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering assemblies, tracks, hydraulicsystem components, and equipment attachments.
May be required to remove, disassemble, and repairgasoline or diesel engines and components.
Shall repair components by replacing worn ordamaged parts with new or reconditioned parts, grinding, fitting, balancing, orarranging for welding or machining.
Shall reassemble, adjust, and test repaired unitsfor proper operation.
Shall properly annotate all maintenance performedon prescribed forms for data collection.
Maintain tool kits with daily tool kit checks andoversight.
Shallinitiate corrective actions to resolve problems, prevent delays and guaranteecustomer satisfaction.
Responsiblefor following a comprehensive safety program in compliance with OSHA, Vectrus,and United States Air Force (USAF) requirements.
Responsiblefor maintaining a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable, professionalatmosphere, free of dust, clutter and trash in all working facilities andareas.
Responsiblefor completing all required training programs.
Responsiblefor proper utilization and safeguarding of all government and contractorprovided property (e.g., to include government facilities, equipment andtools).
Responsiblefor precise execution of company time reporting procedures and accurate completionof timesheet.
Performsother duties as assigned.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT : Extensive interaction with the government customeris required. Work is generally conductedin a shop environment.
However, dutiesmay involve the conduct of work in the out-of-doors area with a potentialexposure to extreme climatic conditions such as, exposure to heat, cold, dust,and noise.
Overtime and shift work may be required depending on contractualneeds. Employee must comply with allFederal, State and Local regulations and published Company work rules as wellas written instructions.
Task specific work environment training will beprovided as required . Must beprepared to function in a wartime environment to support U.
S. interests. 100% Overseas Assignment. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES : Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs., teamlifting up to 100 lbs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education / Certifications : One year related experience may be substituted forone year of education, if degree is required.
High school diploma or equivalent.EPA certified in Air Conditioning.
Must have knowledge of US Air Force Militaryvehicles and equipment, OSHA, ANSI, ASME, military regulations standards, andOEM requirements.
Must havea current, valid U. S. Passport and U. S. Driver’s License, prefer a CDLlicense.
Mustbe capable of obtaining a flight line driver’s license.
Musthave and be capable of maintaining a valid U. S. SECRET Security Clearanceprior to deployment.
Mustbe able to read, write, speak and understand English fluently.
Musthave color vision.
Mustbe able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements thatinclude psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, background checks, etc.
Candidates must successfully complete both onlineand hands on CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) defensetraining.
Training includes the successful fit testing of DoD providedprotective gear.
Shall have a minimum of five years of experience invehicle maintenance, inspection and repair preferably with the Air ForceSpecialty Code (AFSC) 2T351.
Must have two years of experience working on 25KHalverson vehicle types.
Functionalknowledge of ICOPARS, OLVIMS, DPAS, ETIMS, JCALS and CMMS systems.
Functional knowledge of Microsoft programs such asExcel, Word, and Power Point.
Ableand willing to work periods of long hours to meet mission requirements
Military experience in acontingency environment and knowledge and experience working with governmentcontracts preferred.
OtherClearance Level required at Start Date : Secret
