Develop objectives and KPIs for the Health, Safety & Security Functi on in line with the Human Capital & Administration Department’s strategic goals and ensure that the function’s employees are working towards the achievement of these objectives.
Review the operating results of the Health, Safety & Security Function and follow-up to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct insufficient results.
Assist in the development of the Health, Safety & Security Function’s annual budget in liaison with the Manager - Administration and ensure all employees are working within the assigned budget by setting the required targets and responsibilities.
Develop and ensure implementation of the Health, Safety & Security Function policies and procedures and follow up with their implementation in order to achieve the function s objectives.
Identify Health & Safety requirements based on standard health & safety procedures and prepare HSS Plan & Procedures and manage implementation of these plans and procedures throughout AAW.
Follow up with HSS Officers to monitor occupational health and safety implementations at project sites in accordance with legal requirements & technical specifications.
Direct and support the identification of HSS hazards, le ad all investigations regarding accidents, incidents and hazards as well as identify all task specific risks in all work sites of AAW as well as conduct evaluation of risks for all activities and develop control plans for hazards to manage, prevent and reduce these risks from reoccurring.
Monitor timely distribution of required safety materials and equipment for all employees and ensure that all personal safety equipment like safety goggles, safety gear, safety boots, air ducts etc.
are utilized at all times on site by the employees. Ensure proper distribution of related health & safety signs and equipment such as fire extinguishers, hoses, first aid kits, etc.
across AAW. Monitor the inventory of safety materials & equipment and issue purchase orders when needed to the Admin Support Function.
Interact with regulatory agencies as required and maintain compliance with all applicable standards, monitoring and reporting on compliance with health safety and fire aspects of the operating conditions contained within legislation.
Perform regular audit and monitor HSS performance to identify areas for improvement and ensure that appropriate action are taken including offices and work sites.
Ensure the adequate collection of health and safety statistics on a monthly basis and review relevant incident reports to develop remedial actions and thus minimize recurrences.
Manage the development of location and circumstance specific health, safety & security procedures where required i.e. Emergency evacuation plans taken to ensure work safety for AAW’s employees at all times.
Stay up-to date with the HSES regulations, guidelines, best practices and legislations and provide effective recommendations to the team members regarding best practices.
Review risk assessment, and ensure that control measures are adequate and take effective actions to mitigate the impact and likelihood of health and safety risks.
Prepare reports as required by the Manager Administration. Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Direct Manager.
