Structural Technician / Carpenter - Kuwait

POSITION SUMMARY

PAE is seeking a Structural Technician / Carpenter for a position supporting the Air Force on a program in Kuwait. The Structural Technician / Carpenter will be responsible for receiving verbal, written or email work requests and completing repairs, replacements, maintenance and installations as required.

May also consult on existing and new installations. Structural Technician / Carpenter will document work, report progress and notify site leadership as necessary to ensure high quality of service to meet PWS guidelines.

The Structural Technician / Carpenter will be responsible for :

  • Communicates repairs, replacements, maintenance, etc. to staff to successfully complete work orders.
  • Performs skilled tasks involved in the installation, maintenance and repair of structures and fixed, such as windows and moldings and other carpentry / structural materials as indicated in PWS.
  • Ensures that inventory and bench stock of spare parts are being maintained.
  • Addresses written work orders that may require the interpretation of blue prints and project layouts.
  • Assists in planning, installing, servicing, and maintaining carpentry / structures.
  • Makes emergency repairs within scope of expertise.
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
  • Coordinates and monitors customer requests and ensures professional performance.
  • The Structural Technician / Carpenter will be responsible for working with service and support teams and communicating all reporting requirements as stated in PWS and performs other duties as assigned by the Program leadership team.

    The Structural Technician / Carpenter schedule will vary during 24 / 7 rotations.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of three years (3) previous experience at a US Air Force Military Installation with similar mission / project in scope and nature.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
  • A valid US or local driver's license and US passport.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
  • Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).
  • OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Experience providing excellent customer service in supporting contract responsibilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules and under pressure of deadlines while maintaining performance standards.
  • EDUCATION

    Associate degree or equivalent experience.

    WORKING AND LIVING CONDITIONS

    This position may be located in an environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be exposed to extreme and austere environment.

  • Employees must be willing and able to perform regular job requirements in this austere, extreme environment. Employees must be willing and able to perform physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum;
  • climbing in and out of equipment; crawling; and working outdoors. This includes being able to lift and carry 40 pounds of personal protective equipment for extended periods of time.
