POSITION SUMMARY :
Under the direction of the MWR Programs Manager, the MWR Supervisor provides functional and supervisory leadership to the staff at assigned recreation facilities, and associated processes and programs.
Interfaces with internal and external customers / management to address and resolve customer support issues. The Supervisor accomplishes leadership and administrative tasks required to ensure effective contractor services customer support to KBOSSS.
Incumbent shall exercise considerable initiative and judgment in the day-to-day supervision and administration of recreation facilities operations.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES :
Supervises the activities of a diverse staff within MWR recreation operations.
Prepares performance appraisals as required. Recommends employees for recognition and incentive awards. Prepares and issues disciplinary action when appropriate.
Recommends termination or contract non-renewal, as appropriate.
Ensures a high level of program standards are upheld and followed.
conducts regular team meeting to focus and engage staff members.
Ensures that supply inventories and consumption records are tracked and maintained.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED :
Personal computer, laptops, scanners, printers, faxes, other network equipment and other general office equipment.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT :
Work is generally conducted in an office environment. However, duties may occasionally involve working outside with a potential exposure to extreme temperatures.
Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES :
Work may require heavy lifting up, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education / Certifications : One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
Graduation from high school or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in recreation, physical education, leisure studies, business or related field preferred.
Equivalent work experience can be substituted for education on the basis on one work year for every two years of education.
CPR / AED and First Aid certification from a nationally / internationally accredited agency is required within 60 days of hire.
Three to six years experience with at least two years in a similar supervisory role preferred.
Must exhibit strong organization and communication skills. Must be capable of effectively communicating technical information in English, both written and verbal and have a customer service background.
Knowledge of organizational and supervisory principles and practices applicable to the analysis and evaluation of recreation programs, policies and operational needs.
Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
SUPERVISORY / BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES :
Provides leadership, supervision, guidance, and direction to a multinational team in support of the MWR mission.
Employee will have budget responsibilities (APF & NAF) in coordination with the MWR Programs Manager.
