Job Scope :
Responsible for overall process design activities of the Utilities, offsites & product export / import (solid and hydrocarbn liquid) facilities of a petrochemical complex to produce poly propylene, p Xylene, benzene and gasoline.
Petrochemical complex will be colocated with a refinery and LNG terminal and will be integrated for supply of feedstocks as well as utilities & offsites.
Utilities block of the petrochemical complex comprises of Steam, cooling water, fuel systems, Air (Process & Instrument), Nitrogen, water treatment systems, etc.
ware housing, packing and export through container cargo facilities.
Major activities include design basis finalization for individual units of the utilities & offsites facilities in line with specified design philosophies.
Preparation of Process design packages by & FEED contractor for all utilities & offfsites. Design basis for individual utility systems will be based on utility balances for each utility system and for all operating cases to meet the requirements of utilities for all process units during start up, shut down, emergencies as well as special operations such as catalyst systems preparation, regeneration as applicable, decoking operation of furnaces, etc.
Reviews the information about utility conditions provided to various process units and coordinates to update the design basis of individual systems to any changes of requirements from Process units.
Participates in review of BFDs, QRA, RAM, PFDs, P&IDs, HAZOPS, LOPA, SIL studies; EIA studies and technoeconomic studies for integration, energy optimization between offsites, utilities and process units of the petrochemical complex.
Participates in development of overall and individual Plot plan. Reviews tecno economic studies done by Consultant regarding options for generation of utilities.
Communicates with Consultant about Company’ maintenance and sparing philosophy of Utility generation units and ensures robust design of each individual system.
Ensures that the design achieves maximum reuse of recoverable streams and minimum generation of effluents.
Participates in preparation of individual plant layouts; Strategic integration of utilities with utilities of ZOR & LNGI facilities.
Reviews and approves individual equipment specifications like pumps, boilers, furnaces, compressors, vessels, fractionator, heat exchanger, safety valves, control valves etc.,
Aim of these reviews is to ensure design conformance to Industry standards; Operability for normal and off design cases, design simplification and cost optimization.
Reviews the Bid documents prepared by Consultant for the EPC contracts and ensures for their completeness.
Participates in review of EPC bids and selection process. During EPC phase, the candidate will be associated in detail design of the facilities.
Works through a team of Process design engineers as per directions of Team Leader and in close coordination with other Senior Process design engineers
About 12 years overall experience in petroleum refineries / petrochemical units with in Refinery & Petrochemical major projects.
At least 5 years in a Process engineering / process design / commissioning support for offsites & utillity facilities in a petrochemical / refinery complex.
Knowledge and usage of in process simulation software, preparation of H&MB, equipment sizing and preparation of data sheets for major process equipment like pumps, compressor, furnace, heat exchanger, safety valves etc.,.,
Conversant with design codes & standards,
Reviews and approvals of BFDs, PFD, P&IDs, QRA, HAZOPS, LOPA, EIA documents
Experienced in coordination with Consultants, Licensors, and Clients team for developing Design packages.
Experienced in catalyst management including performance monitoring and catalyst replacement requirements.
Very good communication, report writing and Presentation skills..
