POSITION SUMMARY : *
The Environmental Supervisor performs non-supervisory andsupervisory work.They work mainly withengineers, specialists, and officials to eliminate and / or control hazardousoperations or conditions.
In addition,they may be required to operate within the following fields :

5.Assistsin performance ofall recurring environmental and hazardous / waste inspections, inventories,verifications,andtraining programs.

Materialand equipment directly used typically involves documentation of conditionsduring inspections and assessments, such as cameras, rough sketch drawings, andcomputers / laptops to complete reports.
Other equipment includes photo ionization meters, GPS receivers, tapemeasures, and other analytical tools.Motorvehicle operations required.
Work is generally officeenvironment. However, duties will involve the conduct of work in theoutdoors with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions includingfrequent dust storms, and high temperatures up to 130 degrees in the summermonths.
Potential exposure to chemical or biological agents couldexist. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in certainareas is required.
Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot,hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Candidate must comply with all Fire, Safety and post policies.
Normalwork week is 48 hours, but must be able to work overtime or nights as required;to include, holidays.
Work may require heavy lifting (upto 65 pounds), stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, andworking with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure tophysical, chemical or biological agents.
B.S.or B.A. Degree in Environmental or Safety related fields.
5 years of experience in the Environmental / Safetyfield may be substituted for education requirements.Knowledge of ISO 14001 EnvironmentalManagement System (EMS), and knowledge of environmental regulations, policies,and procedures applicable to US, Army, and Kuwait is an advantage.
Excellent organization andcommunications skills, both written and verbal, are required.Must be computer literate in all aspects ofMicrosoft Office.
Knowledge of GIS is anadvantage.
Potential to manage a section of up to and in excess of 15staff including required reporting.
